Benefits of Various Treatments

  • Acupuncture stimulates the central nervous system. The insertion of needles into acupuncture points, in turn, releases chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being. Acupuncture is also used to relieve discomfort associated with neck, lower back, and bilateral shoulder pain.

  • Electro Acupuncture

  • Infrared light therapy provides effective relief for sore, stiff muscles and joints by directing heat deep into the tissues of the body. Light therapy produces heat both at the surface of the skin as well as deep into the tissues below. This increases circulation and brings fresh blood to the area to nourish the tissues and flush away any toxins that may be present. It is effective at relieving the pain and discomfort of ligament damage (sprains and strains), muscle spasms, and chronic conditions like rheumatoid and osteoarthritis.

Infrared therapy has many roles in the human body. These include detoxification, pain relief, reduction of muscle tension, relaxation, improved circulation, weight loss, skin purification, lowered side effects of diabetes, boosting of the immune system and lowering of blood pressure.

The philosophy and principles of tuina massage are based on traditional Chinese medicine, which focuses on emotional and physical components of a person’s well-being, as well as aspects such as climate, relationships, and diet.

The underlying philosophy of tuina massage is that true health is achieved when one has found harmony and balance inside the self and their environment.

The goal of tuina massage is to create harmony in the yin and yang of the body by getting rid of blockages and disturbances that manifest as illness, disease, and emotional issues.

Similar to acupuncture, tuina massage uses the same energetic meridians and acupoints to balance the qi and blood in your body, leading to better health. Qi that’s flowing incorrectly can cause blockages, such as poor blood circulation in the affected area.

The main therapeutic goal of tuina massage is to remove the energetic blocks that are causing qi stagnation.

  • Vasopneumatic therapy (cupping) is a modality that utilizes negative pressure to promote lymphatic flow, blood flowing, and healing by loosening soft tissue, connective tissue scarring, and adhesions that are often the cause of pain.

  • Moxa

In general, moxibustion stimulates blood circulation and triggers the body’s natural healing response. A skilled acupuncturist can target specific points on the body (that may or may not correspond with acupoints) and apply the heat from moxibustion to bring about a biochemical response. In addition, warming certain points with the slow heat from the burning moxa produces a heat that can treat sore muscles. Specific health benefits of moxibustion can include:

  • Stimulating circulation and improving the flow of qi

  • Expelling cold and dampness from the body (“warming the meridians”) to relieve back pain and pain from arthritis and menstrual camping

  • Improving female health issues such as menstrual irregularity, infertility, and breech pregnancy

  • Relieving male health problems such as impotence and poor sperm quality

  • Increasing resistance to cold and flu; this is especially helpful for patients who tend to frequently suffer from contagious viruses that circulate in winter

  • Stimulating the immune system to fight more serious illnesses and to keep the body healthy

  • Regulating the digestive system to relieve constipation and chronic diarrhea

  • Reducing numbness in the fingers and toes

  • Reducing the risk of developing blood clots

  • Easing anxiety disorders and certain symptoms of depression

  • Relieving side effects of conventional cancer treatment

  • Strengthening qi to eliminate general fatigue, leading to increased energy throughout the day

  • GuaSha

Gua sha, when used on the face or body, helps to relieve muscle tension, boost blood circulation, and promote lymphatic drainage. It also enhances the delivery of fresh oxygen and nutrients to various tissues throughout the body, which means a healthier glow for the skin!
