Born in a fourth-generation traditional Chinese medicine/doctor family, I had the fortunate opportunity to study Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) starting in 9th grade. I have been classically trained in many TCM techniques of Tai-chi GuaSha, Pure Yang Moxibustion, finger and foot needling as well as Foot Reflexology, Auricular needling, and FengShui. In addition, I use techniques by Kikko Matsumoto's technique and the technique of EXSTORE.
I obtained my undergraduate Public Health degree from the medical school of Peking University and was able to share my knowledge in this area along with pathology education as a nursing school teacher in Beijing for 4 years prior to raising my family in Connecticut. Later, I obtained a Master's Degree in Acupuncture at the University of Bridgeport's Institute of Acupuncture with the highest honor (Summa Cum Laude).
Knowing both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine has allowed me to benefit patients in a more holistic way. In acupuncture treatment, the proverb “同气相求” in Taoism describes the practitioner and the patient as being in the same frequency of Qi (flow) with the shared intention of cure. So, let's work together to find the best-individualized treatment for you!
Wishing you health, wellness, and peace,
Yanping Liu, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac, Dipl. Public Health
